Assam is one of the major cities of North East India. The word Assam has been derived from the Sanskrit word Ahom. Spanning over a territory of 78,523 square kilometers, Assam is a natural paradise to explore.
Some of the famous travel attractions of Assam are :
Kaziranga National Park :
Famous for housing the famous one horned rhinos, Kaziranga National Park is famous World Heritage Sites of Assam city. Established in 1974 , Kaziranga National Park has 42 species of fish, 9 species of amphibians, 27 species of reptiles, more than491 species of birds and 35 species of mammals.
Kamakhya Temple:
It is one of the holiest shrines of India and is regarded as one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. It is located on a hill - the Neelachala Parvat near the city of Guwahati in Assam
Manas National Park:
Spanning over an area of 391 sq km, Manas National Park is a world Heritage Sites in 1985. Manas is a home of 19 of India's most endangered animal populations.
Cole Park:
It is one of the beautiful places in Tezpur Town. The name of the park has been derived from the Mr Cole, British Deputy Commissioner
Majuli:
It is the largest fresh water Island in the world and is situated 20 kms towards the north of Jorhat. It tends to attract both International and Domestic Travellers.
Hajo:
This is an revered site for all religion. The Hayagriba Madhava Temple at Hajo is important for both Hindus and Buddhists. The temple was destroyed by Kalapahar and rebuilt in
